We had 5 quotes: 3 roof pleated & 2 roof roller. The pleated quotes varied from cheap & nasty to ludicrously high. I liked the pretty fabrics but thought they would not be very practical as we get lots of bugs in the conservatory & our children suffer from asthma, so keeping dust to a minimum is important to us. Also, it’s well known these days that asthma sufferers are sensitive to the droppings that house mites leave in the dust in furnishings. I don’t really know if dust mites would get into roof blinds, but I know loads of dead flies & fly “bits” get into the pleats so I wasn’t going to take that chance! The pleated salesmen tried to convince me that they are easily cleaned but that’s not the issue.
When I was offered rollers for the roof, this seemed to address the dust/ health issue, & given their superior thermal fabrics, my mind was made up. There was nothing to choose on price between Prestige & the other company, but your sales approach & those “mitred” cassettes were better. I am so impressed, thank you.
PS Thanks too, to David who showed us your roof roller & explained how they work in the local showroom in Weston. I also liked the wood venetians he had in there & had an excellent price off him for those.

Visited David’s showroom in Weston & was very impressed with his product range & advice. I opted for pleated blinds all round the sides of the conservatory & I’m really pleased with the result. Thank you for recommending him: it’s good to see you support the “Buy Local” campaign! When we need the roof doing, maybe next year, I’ll contact David as I know he fits your roof roller system, which looks very neat & tidy.

Liked your roof rollers with matching pelmet as soon as I saw it. Didn’t get any other quotes as David was so personable.

Thank you for coming out to look at a little problem with our roof roller blinds, which you fitted 12 years ago! One blind was floppy & would not retract properly, so your fitter (Simon) just replaced a spring which took him 10 minutes, & it was as right as rain. Whilst he was there he also pulled out a pack of Baby Wipes & cleaned off around 7 or 8 fly marks – well beyond the call of duty. He said it was nothing compared to cleaning his baby boy’s bottom, which made us laugh. The roof blinds still look great considering their age, & Simon said we should get another 6 or 7 years out of them. I think you’ll find we’ll be back to you sometime next year as we fancy a colour change – Peach is no longer cool !

Everything we expected & more. Well, more discount would have been nice, rather than none! But we appreciate your company’s philosophy regarding ethical selling. It’s one of the main reasons we chose you, along with your unique roof roller system.

Great job, I have nothing but praise for you guys. Your fitters even dusted & vacuumed before they went - & left the conservatory cleaner than when they arrived! They deserved the tip I gave them!

We had roof roller blinds & window venetians off you 7 years ago & although we have been really pleased with the quality & workmanship, we were a little disappointed that 1 of the springs suddenly failed & the roller unwound a couple of weeks ago. However your fitter was with us within the week & replaced the spring within minutes & at no charge as he was in the vicinity. What wonderful service, thank you.

Delighted with the Pinoleum roof blinds, they are everything that we hoped for & look stunning. The conservatory now looks finished & ready for us to enjoy during our retirement.

We have a very small & simple lean-to with a roof that is almost flat, very little slope. Your chap said Rollers would not fit given the limited space on the facia, Pinoleum would not deal with the intense heat (we are south facing & it gets extremely hot with the roof-line just above our heads) & pleated blinds were the only option, apart from Film.
We didn’t want film because you just look up & see yourself, which at our age is not a pretty sight! & on dull days you cannot “roll” it back making it even more depressing. So we went for the pleated roof blinds & love them. They are tight to the roof & easy to operate with a 1 metre pole, & a lovely Barley Crush colour. I must admit I find the blinds difficult to unclip, even with your sliding tensioner device, so was pleased to hear you do this annual cleaning out of flies & dust for a modest fee! As pensioners, every penny counts!

So glad we didn’t go for those “Perfect Fit” blinds. Our friend has just had some & although she is pleased, I tend to agree with you that the frame around every window is just too much. Each to their own I suppose.
Anyway we love your micro pleated blinds fitted into the window beading, they really are neat & operate so easily, packing away to nothing & with virtually invisible cords. Great job!

Really pleased with the job. Slightly irritated when your fitter was late, but at least he called us in advance to tell us of the traffic delays. However, he won us around by the end of the day as he worked so hard in baking sun, but was so attentive, to the point of perfectionist. Would recommend your roof rollers, & in fact already have – have you heard from Mrs. Coleman yet (Audrey)?
Also, pass my thanks to Alan, who came along for the initial “sales” visit, a lovely man who was most helpful. Alan also runs his own window blinds business as you know & he said you wouldn’t mind me ordering the side blinds directly off him as his showroom is local?
Mrs. Bell, Gloucester Gloucestershire
Roller Roof Blinds Cheltenham
The roof blinds look really neat, so much neater than the old pleated blinds we used to have in there. And they definitely keep the sun out better too; the pleated blinds gave shade but never really reduced the heat gain, unlike the roof rollers. And they go with our new contemporary design so well: clean, simple lines; neutral cream colours, matching pelmet hiding the silver on the back of the rolls; minimalist appearance; no fuss. I rather like the slightly softer lines to the rollers, not at all the problem of sagging suggested by your competition!
PS I think your surveyor was right, I will need those last 4 west facing roof blinds doing as well as I have noticed the sun in July/ August coming through that area. Does your quote for that area still hold?

Roof Rollers Hereford
I’ve dealt with Mark many times in the past as they are a good local company & they have always done our house blinds. When his fitter, Russel, recommended & showed me the conservatory roof rollers, I was pleasantly surprised how good they looked. I had a couple of concerns regarding the longevity of the springs & sagging, but Russel reassured me that the springs will last a good 15 years & any sagging would be minimal at around an inch or so, so I was pleased to place an order with you/ Mark.
Because of the complexity of the roof shapes, Russel fitted the job in conjunction with your Training Manager, & achieved a stunning result. Thank you for your efforts.

A heartfelt thank you to all those at Prestige for such an exceptional product, service & installation. All within agreed timescales & no surprises. We have shown the conservatory blinds to many friends at our recent anniversary party, a few of whom said they would call you. Jane & Phil Jabbar in particular, want conservatory blinds in Shrewsbury as they are currently having an Edwardian conservatory built.

Pinoleum Roof Blinds St Albans
We had quotes from all the leading conservatory blinds companies, but your salesman was the only person who suggested cord/ pulley operated Pinoleum blinds! Everyone else suggested far smaller blinds, electrically operated, & the prices were ridiculous-I couldn’t possibly justify spending that sort of money on blinds! They were talking £11,000 plus! Your prices was less than half of this, yet your quality we found – SUPERB!
Your sales guy really knew his stuff (he also did the survey & was quite technical), & although the conservatory is huge, he was confident because of the large right angled shapes with wide tops, that his solution of doubling up over 3 glass panes per blind, but operated by pull cord over 2 small pulleys per blind would work. I was amazed just how easy they are to operate, & that’s saying something at my age!
There is a much softer filtered light in the conservatory now, & the shading afforded is absolutely fine, even on those rare hot days.

The roof blinds have made a dramatic difference to the temperature in our conservatory. It used to be over 120 degrees F in high summer before, now it never goes above 80 degrees F.
Mr & Mrs. Overton, Loughborough Leicestershire
Amdega Pinoleum Blinds Leicestershire
May I congratulate you on the quality of roof & window blinds & the service supplied to us. Having never had a conservatory before, we needed good, sound advice from the experts. Our primary concern was the amount of light coming through all that glass & the fading of our new furniture. The Pinoleum roof blinds have made living in the conservatory much more pleasurable, & we use it all the time now. The Ivory colour wood really blends well with the green Amdega paintwork, so thank you for the design advice there! Also by taking your advice on the side blinds, & just having plain cream rollers we have saved a considerable amount of money compared to Pinoleum sides which we originally intended. Also, you wouldn’t really notice that we even have any side blinds as they are so inconspicuous when rolled up, although we mainly use them at night to protect our privacy.
Every other company were trying to sell us pleated blinds & whilst I’m sure they are very neat, I could not stand the fly & dust problems associated with these Blinds.

I would like to say thank you to all at Prestige for the first class work & service provided to us. In particular Phil, for suggesting roof roller blinds: they are so neat & unfussy, just what we wanted! It’s also nice to meet Phil at his local showroom, to show us the ranges of blinds available, he discussed all the pro’s & con’s at length & we all came to the conclusion that the best conservatory blinds for our needs are thermal roof rollers.

All your competitors said don’t go for roof roller blinds because they sag a lot, the springs go, & there are cords everywhere! All untrue! They are so biased towards selling pleated & offer nothing else – I can’t understand why.
The sagging, well you have to look really hard to see any at all; the springs – time will tell but you guaranteed them for 10 years so that shows confidence; & yes there is 1 cord per blind on the windows (although all white on white so hardly noticed). Anyway, I’d rather have 1 cord per blind & NO steel support wires as with roof rollers, rather than 70+ steel wires running through pleated roof blinds – it’s a no brainer!
My wife’s never come out of the conservatory since the blinds were fitted, the temperature is always about right now with no squinting at the sun!

Ours is the “Glass Box” type conservatory that you see on “Grand Designs” on T.V. I scoured the U.K. & could find no one who could satisfy our requirements. Couldn’t really find what we were looking for, didn’t really know what we were looking for, till I found you! Sounds like a song doesn’t it? But my husband & I would like to sing your praises (this is getting cheesier by the minute), to compliment Alan & Bev at First Retail Blinds for demonstrating your roof roller blinds in their showroom, along with a seemingly endless choice of side blinds.
After further consultation, your sales guy suggested that we would probably not need side blinds, & that roof rollers, only, would do 90% of the job... i.e. making it comfortable all year round. This I thought in particular, very honest of your company - thank you for that advice which saved us a lot of hard earned money.

Our beautiful timber orangery was just far too bright when the sun came out. We considered all the options & had quotes from all the market leaders but liked your company’s quality of advice & integrity from the very first meeting. You did not have “fantastic time limited offers”, or ridiculous discounts, just seemingly good products at fair prices (your price didn’t change & was considerably lower than the competitions “3 for 2”, & 50% off deals!)
Your Remote Control Pleated system works really well: moving to any position at the press of a button & it stacks away neatly when not in use. Every other company suggested we cover each pane of glass individually, even the triangles, which would have meant 18 blinds & a silly price at almost as much as the conservatory itself! You covered it with just 4 rectangles running parallel to the floor – ingenius! Your electric solution cost less than the competitors pole operated blinds; the advise offered by these companies is geared I’m sure to maximising the salesman’s commissions.
I wish all companies were as straight forward to deal with as you, I have no hesitation in recommending Prestige to our friends.

Love the work, your team took such care during the fitting of the Pinoleum roof blinds, I did not realise they were so involved. Can you confirm our side rollers will be fit in 2 weeks time? That low sun hits the conservatory just as we go in there at 4 p.m; looking forward to those too, & so pleased you recommended simple rollers rather than the roman pinoleum sides – you were right, that would have been too much I think.

Your fitters were very courteous lads. They didn’t even stop for lunch & left the conservatory clean & tidy. They put sheets over the carpet & TV, & took their shoes off when walking through our house. Delighted with all aspects of the job – well done!

Just got in from work – Wow! What a difference, the conservatory now feels like a room. The harsh light has gone away, the garden seems in sharper focus somehow, & it just feels cosier. All really neat, & my husband said it has definitely been cooler in there this afternoon. Apparently Nick is popping back in next week as one of the roof blinds is not quite the right shape & needs trimming – I would never have noticed! Once again, a sincere thank you to all at Prestige!

We wanted plain, simple blinds that do the job in keeping the sun out on those really hot times of day. Not those fussy, crinkly, corrugated, nasty, dirty pleated things! Thank god we found your company: you actually seem to listen to what people want rather than “sell” us pleated blinds or finance plans (which always cost more in the end). The roller cassettes look really neat & make the blinds almost look “built in” to the conservatory. Great work, thank you.

When Ian came along & demonstrated the shaped roof rollers, we were really impressed-we were told by another company that you could not get these! Since having them fitted, we have been able to sit out there in all weathers.
Ours is quite a complicated P-Shape conservatory with blinds running both “uphill” & “downhill”, if you know what I mean, but the job looks really professional, we are so pleased. Please pass our thanks to Ian for his involvement at all stages from initial consultation, through to survey & fitting.

We were so glad to get rid of those dirty pleated roof blinds, just full of flies, wasps, spiders, dust... you name it, it was up there. Felt really sorry for Ian removing them, his hands were black, but he did not moan, he just got on with it. He was so meticulous with the measuring, which took a good couple of hours & he explained things to us very clearly.
When the blinds were fitted we felt so thrilled, as I must admit I was worried, having never seen roof rollers “in the flesh” before, but I didn’t need to be: Ian really took his time & did a lovely job. I’ll come back to you for side blinds early next year when we have the money!

We originally had your roof rollers 16 years ago & they were still going well up to today, though a little tired looking, still quite clean & doing the job. They have made the world of difference, we can sit out there even on the hottest of days. We are really pleased with our new roof blinds.
Mr Tabor, Warwickshire

We thought we wanted pleated blinds on the roof & sides because that was all we thought existed, until your Designer came along (apart from those horrible Vertical blinds of course!). However when he showed us the roof roller model we knew we liked it straight away-it was all we wanted-plain, neutral, simple. The price was not the cheapest but by no means the most expensive either. What really swung it were the cassettes & the fact that they could be mitred into the corners of our victorian conservatory.
Also the option of having pleated blinds fitted into the window beading was appealing, with no cords or chains to worry about. We really like the combination of plain but attractive roof rollers, after all it is just a roof, along with pretty side pleated blinds. It works well & gives the conservatory some interest & visual appeal.
So thank you for your suggestions; those pictures in your presenter really opened our eyes to the possibilities available.

We were impressed by the amount of work that you have done in Southport including that beautiful double Victorian Marston & Langinger conservatory blinds job (the Rolls Royce of all timber conservatories) at The Royal. The Pinoleum roof & side blinds there changed our minds totally, from wanting pleated blinds to wanting Pinoleum. They just seemed in another class, so thank you for arranging for us to see that job.
The subsequent fitting of our Pinoleum blinds went incredibly smoothly, & we are delighted. Our little conservatory must have been easy compared the mother of all conservatories at The Royal !
I cannot thank John & Caroline enough for working with you to come up with the quality of installation that you achieved, & it was nice to see the products both in their local conservatory blinds showroom in Southport, & actually at The Royal.

Love my pleated roof blinds, so neat & tight, & a real eye catcher! The pole is awkward to use as I have so much furniture in there, which gets in the way, but hey, you can’t have everything. Electric operation was just too expensive for us.

We are delighted with the replacement roof blinds. Other companies only seemed to offer pleated roof blinds but I never really liked the look of them, too fussy & frilly. When I asked them about roof rollers they said they sag a lot & would not recommend them. I’m glad I found your company because your Designer explained that your cassetted roof roller system is very neat & looks built in to the roof structure. Furthermore that in my conservatory, as long as the rectangular rollers were kept narrow there would be no more than 1.5” of sag ion the miiddle, & all the shapes would not sag at all!
I love the blinds, so simple & clean looking, & very contemporary in keeping with the conservatory. Would recommend them to anyone.

We previously had pleated roof blinds but found them too fussy & they collected flies by the dozen! The roof rollers you recommended are simple & clean – just the opposite! Less is more! The cassettes really sold it for us, so neat!
Mr. Thomas, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire
Anglian Conservatory Blinds Warwickshire
Having a really good quality conservatory, I wanted equally good quality blinds, & got them with Prestige!
Although we have Solaroof glass, we still felt too hot in summer & this was the main problem to address, along with the intense glare. Roof Rollers seemed to be the best solution, & we are delighted that we chose them. They are extremely neat, nice & plain in appearance (attractive & inconspicuous), & we were advised that they give the best thermal performance available due to the quality of the stitched aluminium solar backing. We were offered Pleated blinds by other companies, but didn’t like the wires or general appearance, & felt relieved that there were other options in your range.
I would like to say that the initial consultation you gave was excellent: you really took time to understand our needs & concerns, & came up with the right solution for us. The subsequent survey & installation was also excellent. Well done: if we decide we need side blinds we will come back to you, but as you pointed out, the roof seems to address 90% of the heat issues.

No-one else offered roof rollers which we couldn’t understand, but having seen the attention to detail & patience required to fit those things, I’m not surprised! Fitters like your Dave must be few & far between! Pass my regards onto him. I particularly admire the pelmet he fitted, which matched the conservatory perfectly & takes your eyes off the rollers on the facia nicely.
And more to the point: they really work as good as you say! We no longer have any glare at all & my wife can do her painting in there comfortably now. I still don’t understand how that obtuse angled blind works & rolls back – it seems to defy the laws of physics-I never was any good at science!
Mr. Jacobson, Wombourne Wolverhampton West Midlands

Loved the colours, especially in the Crush fabric range, & this really sold it to us. We also wanted good light penetration through the fabric, as our problems were not heat gain in summer, but more heat loss in winter. As the type of people that have swags & tails everywhere, we like pretty fabrics & vivid colours, & pleated roof blinds seemed to suit the bill.
You did to be fair, express your concerns about flies as we live near farmland, but we just accept that we will have to get the blinds cleaned out every now & then. Time will tell if we do this, or just live with the little blighters! Thanks for your honesty. And the blinds look smashing.

Phil came round to do the side blinds for us but recommended you for the roof, & showed us your roof roller model, which I liked instantly. He gave us the price but needed a second opinion from your surveyor regarding the strange shapes in the valley area. When your surveyor came along a couple of days later, with Phil, he clearly explained how that area would be tackled & reconfirmed the price: luckily Phil got that part right! They then spent a good hour & a half measuring really accurately & explaining any issues in full. I think Phil also learnt a lot from your surveyor!
The subsequent fitting went really well apart from one blind which was somehow made the wrong way around, however this was remade & refitted within 1 week so we were happy. The oak grain pelmet really finishes off the look nicely, with no bulky rollers on view, so that is the icing on the cake for us! Not only do they look lovely, they actually work on the hottest of days!
Mr & Mrs Robertson, Worcester
Roof Roller Blinds Worcester
Our friends the Grimshaws , recommended you & we popped around to see their conservatory blinds in Worcester – they looked very smart & different to anything we had ever seen before. We particularly liked the general look & feel of the roof roller blinds which are not too obvious compared to other types like pleated & Pinoleum blinds. We also liked the fact that there is only 1 cord per blind to pull it up with & no support wires, unlike the other types which we thought would look terrible against our glass roof.
Having had the blinds fitted last Spring, I can confirm that we have been able to sit out comfortably under the conservatory blinds at all times of day, any day of the year, even on those rare, but unpleasant hot days with no glare or discomfort. So they are “what they say on the tin”: attractive, smart, neat & effective all year round. Thank you so much for all the advice, especially from Phil at our first meeting.
Mrs. Andrews, Droitwich Worcestershire
Pinoleum Blinds Bromsgrove
Thank you for making our conservatory habitable! I must admit I never thought we would need roof blinds as the conservatory salesman said the Pilkington glass would keep the sun out without the need for blinds. Far from it, it was boiling in the summer & too bright.
So to have all these quotes varying from £2500 (cheap pleated) to £7500 (electric Pinoleum), from various suppliers, was a bit of a shock & disappointment. Whilst the £3300 we paid for your Pinoleum blinds was not cheap, they were very competitive & the care & attention to detail you took didn’t go unnoticed! Quality counts & we would not like to buy these twice, so we were pleased with your guarantee & assurances that they should last 15 – 20 years.
Your company does seem to be sincere & trustworthy, keep up the good work.
